Pray for snow

Pray for snow!!!

Calling all skiers and snowboarders of Tacoma; there is a mandatory meeting Thursday November 8th at Harmon Brewery. The annual Tacoma Pray For Snow party is back, and with it come the usual pranks, prizes, super strong beer and overcrowding. I am focused on the prizes – this year the raffle is mine.

If our collective prayers are answered, I may realize my plans to be near the snow gods on Thanksgiving.

Wear your finest ski sweater. Can’t hurt.

  1. Let’s see.. There were prizes, pranks, super strong beers and the place was very crowded. That is to say, it was exactly what was expected. I would change very little, except that I would have at least one less beer, and I would probably arrive an hour earlier. Arriving at 5:30 was good enough to get you just enough room to stand.

For the record, I did not win any prizes. This is getting old. Every number they call for the raffle is hundreds lower than our entire table of tickets. It’s as if the people that get there the earliest (and/or those who run the event) are “entitled” to better odds than us common folk. Just a theory.

  2. Not that this has anything to do with anything, but Robert Goulet is goin’ in the ground today; a moment of silence please for this legendary lounge singer… amen.

  3. Well then I suggest going to the nearest pub directly after work and pouring out some liquor for the homie whilst getting tanked. Here’s to Mr. Tacoma!
