Dave Hates Chico Plays The Spar

Finally. The Seattle open mic juggernaut played their first public show in Tacoma. Jeremy is from Tacoma so it's nice that he finally came back to the roots. A perfect night, sunset views and good music made for a relaxing night out at Old Town's best venue, The Spar.

Woodstock's 40th Birthday!

Zeke, Girl Trouble, Post Stardom Depression, and a host of other bands played Music & Art in Wright Park from noon to 8pm. According to our sources, Zeke was very, very, very loud, thanks to a Clover Park High alum and sound guy. The Painkillers played at Wright Park and later at Doyle's Public House.

Later that day... The Fucking Eagles - featuring a lineup that was 2 parts Seaweed, 1 part Clover Park alum, 4 parts married couples - played Hell's Kitchen. It was something of a retro, post-millenial punk, western Hollies affair. Last but not least, The Spazmatics pitched in their 80's dance over at Jazzbones.

All in all, twas a big day of alternative music in Tacoma, commemorating a music festival that left a prominent mark in our country's social fabric 40 years ago on a farm in New York.
