Tacoma Urban Skiing

"I'm not puttin something together," was all I could get out of this daredevil during our interview. He's not big on words. What Mark lacks in verbiage he makes up for in riding concrete. To catch a glimpse of this guy, one must usually hang out on chair 7 at Crystal. Here's a sneak peak for those of you who don't often have the privilege. Sorry about the vibrating camera - it's currently too bumpy and melty in Tacoma to try again today .

Urban Skiing Part II

Day 2 of the urban skiing adventure. Much easier to see today, but the snow was a bit slushy. The unsteady camera was hard to avoid because the road is all chopped up.

Red Light Cameras In The Snow

Brilliant! I hope the city has elected to NOT send red light camera infractions to "violators" on snow days. Here is photographic evidence of a poor guy in a blue sedan who, due to snow and ice, was driving slow (and CAREFUL!) and had just entered the intersection while the light was still green. The second photo shows him coming toward me, just as the light is about to turn red. I sincerely hope this guy didn't receive a ticket. Anyone get a red light ticket lately? Mike Holmgren vs. Brett Favre

In Seattle! In a blizzard! On the greatest stage, Holmgren won his last game at Qwest Field against Favre's New York Jets, 13-3. The snowball frenzies, the closed down trains, the fights, the mystique of Brett Favre... nothing could take away from this masterpiece. I shall remember it always. Thanks for the memories and the Super Bowl appearance, Mr. Holmgren. And for the record, none of the snowballs hurled in your direction came with any malice intent. If anyone would've hit you, they'd have been dismembered by the crowd. Hey look! Fluker!

Urban Night Skiing

The snow has kicked up again here in Tacoma. There are many things to do outside when it's snowing. I chose to ski 36th hill a few times. Due to darkness and blizzard conditions, the video is a bit grainy, but you get the idea!

Let It Snow

The snow doesn't seem to be relenting. We are in for a treat if this keeps up. Great sites around Tacoma tonight. And gas prices are still low. Loving it.

White Christmas?

Though the sky is clear, there may be more snow on the way. I try not to get my hopes up. We'll see if the weather pattern can pack another stormy punch. All I want for xmas is several inches of snow. Santa, are you listening?

Point Defiance Snow Party 2008

Point Defiance is always the best place in Tacoma to watch people flailing around in the snow. Inner tubes, snowboards, sleds, and homemade sliding gadgetry, as expected. Night time snow pictures in Tacoma are taking over my memory card!
