Kube

who am i?

Hi my name is Kristin Kube and I am a practicing artist living here in Bothell,
Washington. I'd like to thank you for taking the time to view my works here today.
These pieces are the result of many compiled thoughts and ideas as well as
many long hours spent in the studio. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

art background

I have been doing art as long as I can remember.......ever since I could pick
up a pen, I've been creating works of art both for myself and for family and friends.
I find art not only as enjoyable, but also as an outlet for me. It represents an arena
where I can express my ideas and thoughts freely in a colorful visual medium.

art education

All throughout my education I have always participated and studied in the arts
as well as art history. In December of 2003, I received my B.A. in art from Western
Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. During my time at Western, I
studied painting, photography, drawing, printmaking and fibers as well as a great
deal of art history. Extensively studying the history of art gave me the ability to
effectively learn about and understand the art made today.

Kube

focus

My favorite subject to convey in art is the horse and you will find many examples
of this subject matter in my body of work. I've always been fascinated by horses;
fascinated by their grace, their beauty, and their undeniably human-like qualities.
To convey these attributes is what I hope to do when I use them in my art.

Kube

philosophy

I find that the history behind and reasons for an art piece can be just as intriguing
as the actual visual product created by the artist. Regarding my pieces, I enjoy
sharing my creative process with the viewer almost as much as I enjoy creating
the actual artwork.

future

Art is more than fun for me; it's therapeutic. In the future, I plan on continuing
my education in art both by pursuing a career as a practicing artist as well as
going on to graduate school.
